Hello everyone!
My name is Lucas and I’m a brazilian composition student, I’ve been working with algorithmic composition for a while – mostly stochastic algorhithms. But recently I’ve earned an interest in genetic algorhithmic composition and a professor of mine sugested me to go and try to work along with OM and genetic algorhithms. Searching the web is difficult, since OM is not widelly spread – like pure data is. So, does anybody here know of any OM library or lisp material that can be used to create or work with genetic algorhithms?

Thank you!

Hi Lucas,
You should probably have a look at Geof Holbrook’s OM-Darwin library: https://github.com/geofholbrook/om-darwin

Hey, I’ve downloaded it and tried installing but it didn’t worked neither on Linux nor Windows. I’ve tried to copy the content on the link on the Libraries folder, but I nothing happened, OM didn’t recognized the library. So, I might have missed some step! If anyone could help me, I would be reeeally pleased!

Thank you!!!

Hi Lucas. It works here, perhaps it’s a problem of placement? I downloaded the sources from the link Jean sent you, put it in my Libraries folder, restarted OM, and the lib was recognized.

The included demo workspace didn’t load without some tweaking. But importing the folder ‘elements’ into another workspace seems to work, and the examples are running (checked with 3-4 patches).
