Ex Machina is a creation conceived by Steve Lehman and Frédéric Maurin. It explores for the first time the possibilities of improvised interactions between instrumentalists and the machine within the French National Jazz Orchestra. In addition, the projection of a film by Catherine Radosa will highlight the compositional processes of this work.
With the support of the Jazz & New Music Fund, the Villa Albertine and the FACE Foundation, in partnership with the French Embassy in the United States and with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the French Institute, the Sacem and the National Music Center.
