Max Workshop: Assisted Composition and Orchestration

This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the use of the Max environment as a tool for assisted composition and orchestration. The session will cover patching strategies for algorithmic generation of musical material, interactive orchestration. Participants will learn to build compositional systems that respond dynamically to musical parameters, bridging the gap between human intuition and machine assistance. Prior experience with Max is recommended; example patches will be provided to ensure all attendees can actively participate.

 

REQUIREMENTS for PARTICIPANTS:

- a recent computer (Mac or Windows). Airdrop allowed for Mac users, a USB stick for Windows users.

- Max 8 or 9 installed and authorized + bach & cage Max libraries installed from Package Manager + orchidea Max library installed from orch-idea.org website.
