Bio :
Arshia Cont is the CEO and Co-founder of the Music Tech Startup Antescofo, behind the mobile Application Metronaut, since 2016. While a teenager, Arshia was struggling to decide between his passions for music and sciences. He is happy he never did. After completing a PhD in Computer Music in UC San Diego, he served as research scientist between 2008 and 2016 at IRCAM, a center dedicated to fostering music technology and artistic creativity; and head of the MuTant research team at INRIA. In the same period, he acted as the director of Research/Creativity Interfaces in the institute where he founded the Ircam Musical Research Residency program and pushed Ircam Forum to the social network era.
He created the award-winning Antescofo technology in 2008, joining artificial intelligence and music in real-time computer-human experience, while working with composers and musicians which has since been featured in concerts and performances with prestigious ensembles worldwide. He is the author of 50+ papers in international journals and conferences on Computer Music. His PhD was awarded the SPECIF Gilles Kahn prize in 2009 by the French Academy of Science. In 2016, he co-founded the Antescofo start up, a MIDEM and SXSW Finalist, aiming to bring its benefits to greater public.
