In this presentation I will discuss the composition of vocal music using AI-powered speech synthesis technologies. I will focus in particular on a project entitled Points of Articulation, which I produced during a two-month Artistic Research Residency at IRCAM in 2025, discussing the tools that I used, the compositional processes that I developed, and my broader aesthetic framework. Incorporating elements of algorithmic writing, sound poetry and improvised music, the work explores the historical and cultural significance of speech synthesisers, and their relationship to technologies of knowledge production and the human body.
