Immersive audio is often approached as a technical challenge ; but what happens when we treat it as a language ?

In this talk, Rodrig De Sa (co-founder of 360Prod) and Charlely Mahaut (sound engineer of 360Prod) presents how his team works hand-in-hand with musicians, composers, and performers to create spatial works where space is not just a parameter, but a dramaturgical force.
From Symphonie des Airs (a solo violin piece using spatial phrasing and dynamic presence) to L’Œil du Cyclone (an electro-ambient analog synth show with live spatial movements), the projects discussed span genres but share one core idea: sound moves, and movement means meaning.
360Prod develops the Soundarium, a fully battery-powered, solar-charged immersive system designed for touring. With a circular speaker layout and real-time control via SPAT Revolution and OSC interfaces, it allows artists to perform immersive works in places with no infrastructure : from forests to festivals, abandoned spaces to proscenium stages.

But the tools are only one side of the story. This talk also reflects on how immersive audio invites new forms of writing, staging, and listening. By collaborating from the very beginning of the creation process, 360Prod helps artists craft experiences that are both technically feasible and emotionally rich.
Spatial audio doesn’t have to stay in the lab.
It can travel. It can move people. It can reinvent the way we hear music, together !!
