The QAC Toolkit crashcourse - Omar Costa Hamido (OCH)

Get up and running with The Quantum-computing Aided Composition Toolkit for musicians and artists to build, run, and simulate quantum circuits in Max.

Presented by: Omar Costa Hamido (OCH)
Biography

In this crash course, I will walk through most features of The QAC Toolkit, a free Max package (available on the package manager) that allows musicians and artists to build, run, and simulate quantum circuits inside Max. This tutorial on Quantum-computing Aided Composition (QAC) will include a short introduction to the topic of quantum computing, different quantum gates, how to build quantum circuits and change them programmatically, and even how to run them on real quantum hardware. The crash course ends with a brief overview of the online community.quantumland.art and how to continue to be involved in the development of the field of music with quantum computing.

Notes

  • Need Max installed, and have basic knowledge of working with Max/MSP
  • Salle Nono already has desktop computers with all the software installed, but you’re free to use your own computer
  • All patches and code developed during this session will be available on the github repo (see links below)
