This audiovisual art installation explores the relationship between acoustic biological and human activity in the Donau-Auen National Park (AT).
High-resolution multi-channel sound recordings and their playback make it possible to present the acoustic characteristics of wild meadows, floodplain forests, and riparian landscapes throughout the seasons. This allows the complex sounds of birds, insects, amphibians, and mammals, including  sounds from trees, underground and aquatic organisms, to be represented.
In four chapters, the complexity of these natural sounds is artistically summarized in relation to the acoustic impacts of humans. Each chapter covers one season and leads the listener on a sound journey through the landscapes of the floodplains.
The spectrograms are modulated by video recordings of the corresponding habitats and by ecoacoustic indices. The higher the biological activity and the lower the human presence, the more colorful they appear.
This ambisonics soundscape compositions can be played back on any multi-channel sound system or via binaural stereo over headphones. The videos can be played back with multiple projectors adapted to the venue, or with HD TV screens.
