Biography

Let's explore two methods for DJing in Spatial Audio:
  1. using Pro Tools to spatialize a stereo DJ set in real-time
  2. using Ableton Live as a multichannel mixer

The first method enables any DJ to spatialize his DJ set, even if he's playing with vinyl records. It's a great way to make it more accessible while giving some control to the DJs, enabling them to move the vocals across the room and playing with some presets.

The second method is more precise but more complex. It requires a lot of preparation and we are going to dig into some of the details: getting the multichannel files ready for DJing, routing with a Max 4 Live device, spatializing with multiple object panner plug-ins, and more...

We are going to integrate with multiple spatialization processors, such as the Dolby Atmos Renderer, Flux:: and IRCAM Spat Revolution, L-Acoustics L-ISA, and d&b Soundscape.

Finally, you’ll discover how a simple mindset shift can allow you to use the same immersive mix for both live performances and distribution on streaming platforms.
