The movement of virtual sound sources in ambisonic space is not a simple effect or parameter, it is an integral part of the musical material, as important as the melody or accompaniment. Therefore, we must be able to create and play it.
The more words of the musical language we know, the more clearly we will be able to express ourselves in it.
Platon Buravicky is a contemporary classical composer, pianist and improviser. Studied composition under Pēteris Vasks direction, later receiving a Master’s Degree in composition from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music under the direction of professor Selga Mence.
His creative work is not only dedicated to symphonic and chamber music, but also electroacoustic music which has taken an important role in his oeuvre. Buravicky composes musique concrète & soundscapes based on sound synthesis, i.e. he often creates virtual tools and module algorithms, which are then used like instruments for music production and live performance.
