Modalys, Ircam's virtual lutherie technology, was introduced as early as 1989 and has always been enhanced and maintained since then!

Modalys 3.7 public release

Modalys 3.7, our sound synthesis framework based on physical models, one of the oldest technologies developed at Ircam, was shown at Ircam Forum in March 2022, and was available as public beta. After weeks of finetuning, it is now more than time for the official release!

The Snail: update for macOS/Windows/iOS

The iOS update was a long overdue. In fact iOS15, released in Sept 2021, broke The Snail 🐌 🔨 so many users had been expecting this 2.3 update. The Snail is now back on track! Also The Snail is fully compatible with any Apple devices, iphones and ipads of any sizes. The minimum iOS version is 9.0.

Abstract : 

The S3AM team exposes its current research axes, and presents the recent software developments of Modalys - version 3.7, real time and 3D LUA language - and The Snail - version 1.4, as well as an embedded prototype under Raspberry PI for the use of the editing studio.
