Continuum, augmented experience of live performance in its sound dimension - Hugues Vinet, Markus Noisternig, Gildas Dussauze, Gaëtan Byk

The purpose of this roundtable is to present the Continuum project, coordinated by Ircam, in collaboration with the companies Amadeus and VRtuoz. Continuum is supported by the State as part of the "Augmented Experience of Live Performance" program of the cultural and creative industries (CCI) of France 2030, operated by the Caisse des Dépôts. The round table will also include a presentation of VRtuoz and Amadeus and their recent projects.

Continuum designates a new conception of production and broadcasting of live performances augmented with sound: a continuum between real and virtual stages, between artists and spectators/viewers/listeners of today and between French technological innovation and cultural productions with innovative formats. This program, which is at the cutting edge of technological research, aims to develop a complete production chain, from capture to final restitution, allowing the creation and transmission of spatialized content to spectators on different listening and individualized interaction platforms, and to broadcast it in different configurations (performance halls, public or private spaces). The targeted functions are experimented and validated through a set of remarkable creations and their marketing contributes to their democratization.
