DAFNE+ workshop – Getting started with the DAFNE+ platform by Hugues Vinet and Guillaume Piccarreta
DAFNE+ (Decentralized platform for fair creative content distribution empowering creators and communities though new digital distribution models based on digital tokens) is a Research and Innovation project funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe program. It aims to help digital content creators find new ways of creating, distributing and monetizing their works of art through blockchain technology. DAFNE+ provides new services and tools that allow the creation and co-creation of content in a blockchain in an intuitive and simple way so that artists do not need to have technical knowledge on blockchains or NFTs. DAFNE+ promotes creator communities through a new decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) in which all the holders of a governance token will have decision-making power over the rules of the community and the content distribution platform.
DAFNE+ addresses a broad range of creative practices including visual arts, sound and music, design, fashion, architecture, makers, prosumers, etc.
IRCAM’s role in DAFNE+ is in particular to organise a community of artists and technology providers on electronic music and sound. Halfway between IRCAM's Forum and Sidney the interactive music repertoire archive, and based on an autonomous organization and distributed infrastructure, the platform will enable artists, researchers and engineers to share and monetize pieces of technology for producing music and live performance - libraries, patches, documentations...
The workshop will be devoted to an introduction to DAFNE+ and to guiding participants through their first steps on the latest version of the platform published at the beginning of October: registration, acquisition of a Metamask wallet and free tokens, downloading of content and publication in the form of NFT, access to creation tools, management of community proposals for the governance of the DAO.
