Hans Leeuw’s Electrumpet wins Guthman Award

Forum member Hans Leeuw's hybrid acoustic/hardware/software instrument, the Electrumpet, has won this year's Guthman competition for new musical instruments!

The software part of the instrument is a sophisticated Max patch using recognition, analysis, resynthesis making extensive use of the FTM, SuperVP, Chromax packages.

Hans Leeuw was also a laureate for the Ircam Live @ Gaité Lyrique concert and performed his Electrumpet during 2012 Forum Workshops (see performance video).
