In a tour of prototyping techniques in the context of building music/audio software, we will see that there are learnings about an idea that can only be obtained by combining physical gesture with audio feedback. We will study some real and hypothetical examples of software projects to see how Max and other tools are used to physically experience new ideas when building software at iZotope/Soundwide.

To provide context for these prototyping techniques, we will see examples of Minimal Viable Products (MVPs) and how lean product development methodologies can be used to learn about the market for a product or idea before building software. Finally we will see how much more we can learn from users when they can touch, feel, and hear the prototype.
