Mare is a multi-channel elecroacoustic performance/composition which is based around various recordings made by the sea - a seaside cathedral in Venice (Baroque organ recital) - a seaside wood-fired sauna in the Finnish archepelago in the Baltic Sea - riding a bicycle seaside on Hirvensalo Island in western Finland - and others. Extensive use of techniques such as grnular synthesis are used to transform this recorded material into highly spatial sonic environments which are intended to immerse the listener in much the same way as each of these environments.
